Ime govori sve. Meteor Crater je navodno najbolje očuvan krater na svijetu. Tu je NASA radila obuku svojih astronauta iz misijskih programa Apollo-a.

Krater je stvoren prije nešto više od 50.000 godina. Toliko je velik da po visini/dubini stane zgrada od 60-tak katova. Na dnu ima mjesta za 20 nogometnih igrališta (raspoređenih u 5 redova po 4 igrališta), a uokolo bi po obroncima mjesto našlo čak 2 milijuna gledatelja.

Stvarno velika rupa.

They say it is the best preserved meteor crater in the world. I believe it. Haven’t seen other ones, but this one looks pretty fresh. No wonder NASA conducted its Apollo mission training programs here.

Here are some crater stats:

• created approx. 50,000 years ago
• deep enough to fit a 60-story building (for reference – that’s the size of the TransAmerica pyramid building in San Francisco)
• the bottom can fit 20 football fields (in a 5 row x 4 field/row configuration)
• enough room around the sides to fit seating for 2 million people

Huge potential for the world’s greatest stadium.
